How to jailbreak your iphone 3G/3GS using Firmware 4.1 restore

Prerequisite :

Latest itune : 10.01 Recommanded

Download : 4.1(3G)      iphone1,2_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw

                   4.1(3GS)     iphone2,1_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw

Redsn0w 0.9.6 b5        Download 

(download on desktop )

Process :

 Step 1:

         
        Update iPhone  to iOS 4.1.

•     Connect your iphone to itune.

•     Select your iPhone from the list of devices on the left. Now hold down Shift and click the 

             Restore button. Restore is preferred as it won't create any wasted space on your iphone.

 Step 2 :

                

               Once iTunes has finished updating your iPhone to the desired firmware from Desktop    and launch the redsn0w application from the redsn0w.exe  we extracted earlier.    

Step 3 :
               Once RedSn0w opens click the Browse button   

 

Step 4:
            Select the 4.1 firmware ipsw we placed  on our desktop then click Open. 

           Click on Next and Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 will prepare data for jailbreak.

Step 5:

              Now select “Install Cydia” and click Next. (If you want to disable multitasking &    wallpaper then simple uncheck “Enable multitasking and wallpaper” option)

Step 6.

You need to power of your iPhone  and connected to computer and click on next button.

 

Step 7 :

RedSn0w will now guide you through the steps to get into DFU mode.

Hold down both the Home button and the Power button for 10 seconds

you will now have to hold “Home” button too for about 10 seconds. 

 

 Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins (about 30 seconds).

 

Step 8 :

Please be patient until the process finish, ipad baseband fetching will take some time..

Once this is complete you will be notified that RedSn0w is done. Click the Finish button. When your iPhone finishes rebooting (5 minutes or so) it will be jailbroken with Cydia on the SpringBoard.
